Two Muskoka Obsessed Cottage Kids…

Kelly Fallis

Kelly Fallis / CEO

With a keen eye for beautiful spaces and an addiction to project managing, this was a classic Kelly move!  Her love for makeover-driven projects combined with a penchant for being insanely organized, and always running super-lean with budgets and timelines, has earned her the title of “resolution specialist” in her family.

Despite growing up in the tiny one stoplight town of Durham, On and stints in BC, Switzerland, Boston, NYC and Toronto, the one place she has always called home is ” Muskoka”.  One could always find her at the family island cottage for the season; earlier as well as later in the season each year than her cottage cohorts.

A background in finance on Bay St. led Kelly to the first of her entrepreneurial endeavours. Her Toronto-based home styling company, Organized Outcomes, maximized returns on assets for 750+ households in six years.  Then in 2010,  long before online shopping was a reality, she saw the need to make not only the purchasing, but also the shipping and delivery, of furniture to homes across Canada and the US nuisance free, thereby launching  Remote Stylist.

Kelly is now thrilled to combine her diverse skill set in 8 distinctly different industries – decorating and design, project management, finance, furniture, retail,  data, shipping, fulfillment and real estate (she’s also a realtor) – with her love for Muskoka and its deep rooted history.

Kelly is a leading authority on entrepreneurial life,  bootstrapping, startups, small business, technology and automation as well as a regularly quoted expert on home decor trends.  She won Canada’s Business News Network ‘Best Pitch of 2012’, and has had feature stories in the Muskoka Magazine, New York Times, Crains NY, Inc. Magazine, The National Post, Toronto Star, Canada.com, Wish Magazine, HGTV, numerous blogs, even overseas publications from the likes of China, Dubai and Australia.

Morgan Rueter Muskoka

Morgan Rueter / President

Wouldn’t you know … they met on the lake.   A long time Toronto resident, Morgan was introduced to Lake Muskoka the day he was born (August if you’re wondering). With an undergrad degree in Urban Planning, post-graduate education in Urban Land Economics and Commercial Real Estate Valuation and 15+ years experience in commercial valuation, development feasibility and advisory, predominately at CBRE Limited, he brings an intense research and analytical background to the RS Muskoka mix.

Despite being a corporate real estate and numbers guy, it is also evident that younger years shadowing ‘Dad’ on woodworking projects including but not limited to wooden boat building and home restoration came full circle and his passion for building projects picked up steam with every year that passed.  When he decided that city and cubicle life didn’t pack the punch it once did, his passion for the outdoors, Muskoka and building projects trumped all.  Whether he’s swinging a hammer or running the carpentry team, his attention to detail from initial planning and materials procurement to project close-out is unsurpassed.

Morgan can ALWAYS be found near a roaring fire or “projecting” in the workshop.

…and yes, this Muskoka duo are husband & wife.
