If there are two things close to our heart its boutique hotels and color, so we were thrilled (and shocked we had yet to hear) about the Pantone Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
Yes that Pantone, you know global color authority that revolutionized the world with the launch of their matching system way back then. The same folks who were behind making Marsala, the 2015 color of the year! Apparently we’ve been to head down in our computers to know that they expanded their line of design-driven products which includes a sneaker collection, bath and body line, accessories, kitchenware and mugs among a HOTEL.
This clean-lined central Brussels boutique has the common white-on-white background, typical of other European hotel, then mixes in the most vibrant Pantone hues.
I recall being a child when the West Edmonton Mall opened and being so excited to go with a large group because then we could see all the differently designed theme rooms ( my brother had the race car bed!) — but this takes my love of different rooms in one hotel to a whole other level! Each of the fifty-nine “large” or “larger” rooms is outfitted in one of seven carefully designed color palettes.
While you are quickly to find out if you prefer a vibrant red or perhaps calming green in your room, fear not; moving around the hotel is a sensory experience chalked full of furnishings and objects that go well beyond the Pantone palette.
Brussels just went back up our must re-visit list, if only to hang out in this vibrant space! The Belgian breakfast however also caught our attention ….mmm waffles! Rooms under $200 USD/night.
