Count Your Sheep … Elsewhere

24 Hours in a Day.  8 Hours = Perfect Sleep.

We spend 1/3 of our lives in bed – dreamy right?!   While finding the perfect mattress should now seem like a given, its also a fact that your room decor really sets the mood.  Bedding, fluffy pillows, the colors of your lamps, the right amount of light, cozy blankets, and whether you have a good bedmate or not,  hopefully an inspiring view.

While we love our husband and our park view, it seems the delayed spring start did NOT take our breath away this morning!  Good news …its Travel Tuesday, where we jaunt around the world imagining that we were here.  Here are 5 places we hope we wake up tomorrow instead:

1. Amalfi Coast

Set atop a cliff on the edge of Sorrento, you seriously won’t believe your view from this bed.  Mixing traditional with minimal (and once again white), the Amalfi Horizon keeps the design simple and lets the view take center stage. Lets see terrace with al fresco dining, infinity pool and dreamy view of the sea .. its becoming obvious we will not need to go anywhere today!  Between the onsite treadmill (?), our stash of Italian vintages, one seriously romantic setting and a spectacular star filled sky this evening getting a good night rest here will definitely be hard 🙂

2. Bali

Picture spending your Wednesday in Amy at Dea Villas in Bali instead!   With soaring ceilings that bring an airiness to the space, its teak floors edged in acid-washed marble inspire that down-to-earth chicness.  Shades of white layered upon neutrals intermixed with furniture of an Indonesian flare. The most tranquilizing part of your imaginary stay however is the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to your private pool.

3. Barbados

Blue horizons, well kept grounds and a breezy master bedroom that mixes classic colonial style with a hint of laid-back Caribbean flair. Your eyes will be as pleased with the accommodations at the Greensleeves as your body is with it’s cushiony beds.  After a day that encompassed dropping the kids at the jungle gym, working it out on the tennis courts, spending the afternoon between the swim up bar and the actual beach, and a fun-filled dinner party with friends, picture a nightcap curling up with your partner and listening to the sounds of the sea from here.  D-R-E-A-M-Y right?!

4. The Turks

We are still back on Bali … so how about Bali meets Caribbean and that signature Turks & Caicos blue – water all around!  Vaulted ceilings and bamboo accents mixed with simple and elegant white once again.  Villa Balinese has a master wing with floor-to-ceiling windows and your very own private terrace.  Caribbean or Asian, easing into a Wednesday would be REALLY hard clearly …especially when its followed with a trip to the couch (no really, check that view!)
