It’s travel Tuesday and this week we’re off to Highpoint, North Carolina … a town you have likely never heard off, unless you live in furniture land!
Lets get our bearings … yes that’s in North Carolina, and called High Point because it is the highest point in the four regions it’s location borders. With the official slogan of ‘North Carolina’s International City’ 100k + exhibitors and buyers from around the world descend on this town of otherwise 85,000 resident, for 10 days every year – 5 in April and 5 in October.
We’ll be the first to admit that the landscape of one industrial building after the next leaves a lot of be desired – from the air (above) or the car (below),
(arrive by train and it definitely looks a whole lot more appealing!)
That being said if you’re obsessed with furniture and decor like we are – it’s a MUST visit for anyone in the industry. We haven’t left ourselves enough time this Market to appropriately do it justice, but in October we’re making a pact to give you the full experience….promise!
