Hot off the press in the furniture world this week.

Kate Spade will roll out a line of home furnishings Spring 2016 that will include furniture, rugs, fabric, wall paper, bedding and bath textiles through four licensed partners – EJ Victor, Jaipur Rugs Kravet and DWI Holdings.

PS Kate Spade Saturday, the younger sister of the fashion company, that partnered in December with retailer West Elm announced it would close its Kate Spade Saturday stores due to unprofitability. 


Karen Sealy

The Canadian Furniture Show, held in June each year, nabbed designer Karen Sealy as the spokesperson for 2015.  A regular to Cityline , we’re hoping she brings some desperately needed klout to the show.   Produced by the Quebec Furniture Manufacturers’ Association, this year’s show at Toronto’s International Centre is said be totally transformed –  time will tell but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Ikea is launching a line of furniture that will charge your phone wirelessly.  Their ‘Home Smart‘ pieces include of bedside tables and lamps with built-in charging spots.  But not so fast Canada – they are debuting in the US, UK & Europe only starting mid-April.
