We’ve been so crazy busy lately that I forgot that we had tickets to the Gravenhurst theatre, thankfully remembering a few hours shy of the curtain call! Pretty happy that I did because we spent two hours in a suprisingly non-packed theatre watching four extremely talented actors/tresses execute a brilliantly clever and witty theatre production called THUMBS.
Having never stepped foot inside the Gravenhurst Opera House before, the decor lover within me immediately fell in love. In it’s 115th season it’s survived every possible hardship thrown at it and is worth the trip to see any production alone. #prettiestbuildingaround
The brainchild of a Brit-American combo Rupert Holmes, takes us to an isolated ski cabin (in this case in Moonstone, ON) where murder is in the air. Directed by multiple award Dora winner Maja Ardal and starring Robin Clipsham, Jane Miller, Richard Peters and Geoffrey Tyler, this plot-twisting comedic murder mystery will definitely keep you guessing until the very last second.
I’m seen my fair share of great theatre and I’d put a Broadway meets Stratford quality on this lot of characters and the production on a whole. What I found so refreshing was that two leading ladies command the stage, not to mention keep you in stitches throughout! Honestly, it’s amazing and if you’re anywhere near Muskoka it’s literally in your back yard. Hit the Oar & Paddle for dinner beforehand and it’s an #rsmuskoka guaranteed great night out.
If you haven’t seen it yet get your tickets here and put it on your must-do Muskoka July 2016 list – on at the Gravenhurst Opera House until July 29, 2016.
We can’t wait to check out the August line up!
